Advising the Divorcing Client
Divorce is a life-changing event for our clients, involving many tax issues. In addition to alimony and child support, you’ll need to determine which taxpayer can claim an exemption for a child, what tax goodies go with the child exemption and which stay with the custodial parent. Other issues, such as who gets the real estate deduction and who qualifies for the 121 exclusion, are discussed. Be prepared when clients come to you in the midst of divorce!
Cost is $25 for Members (NAEA); $40 for nonmembers.
